tasya jyātalanirghoṣaṁ visphūrjitam ivāśaneḥ | vitresuḥ sarvabhūtāni sarve śrutvā ca pārthivāḥ ||
Sañjaya said: The thunderous twang of his bowstring sounded like the roaring of a thunderbolt. Hearing it, all creatures were shaken with fear, and all the kings as well were terrified—an omen of the overwhelming force about to be unleashed on the battlefield.
