sañjaya uvāca | uktā dvīpā mahārāja grahān vai śṛṇu tattvataḥ |
Sañjaya said: “O great king, I have described the continents (dvīpas). Now hear, in accordance with the truth, the account of the heavenly bodies (grahas).”
The verse emphasizes disciplined, truthful exposition (tattvataḥ): knowledge should proceed in an orderly way—first the terrestrial divisions (dvīpas), then the celestial bodies (grahas)—and should be presented accurately to the listener.
Sanjaya, speaking to King Dhritarashtra, transitions from his completed description of the dvīpas to the next topic: an account of the grahas (heavenly bodies), continuing the cosmographical discourse within Bhīṣma Parva.
