Sañjaya said: “O king, Arjuna bore that shower of arrows as steadfastly as a mountain bears a downpour of rain—unshaken in the face of assault, holding his ground with disciplined courage amid the fury of war.”

The verse highlights kṣatriya steadiness: in righteous duty one must endure hardship without losing composure. Arjuna’s calm endurance under attack models disciplined courage—meeting violence with firmness rather than panic.
In the battle, Arjuna’s chariot is subjected to a heavy barrage of arrows. Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Arjuna withstands the missile-rain as a mountain bears a rainstorm, emphasizing his unshaken resolve.
