भीष्मवधोपाय-प्रश्नः (Inquiry into the means to overcome Bhīṣma) | Chapter 103
प्रययौ समरे तूर्ण तव पुत्रस्य शासनात् । नर्दमानो महानादं प्रावृषीव बलाहक:
sañjaya uvāca |
prayayau samare tūrṇaṁ tava putrasya śāsanāt |
nardamāno mahānādaṁ prāvṛṣīva balāhakaḥ ||
Sañjaya said: At the command of your son, he hastened at once into the battle. Roaring with a mighty, thunderous cry—like a rain-cloud in the monsoon—Alambuṣa advanced onto the field.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights how swiftly martial agents act under a ruler’s command, illustrating the ethical tension between obedience to authority and the larger moral consequences of war.
After Duryodhana issues an order, Alambuṣa immediately enters the battle, roaring loudly like a monsoon rain-cloud as he advances onto the battlefield.
