तेषां युधिष्ठिरो राजा सर्वेषां पुरुषर्षभ । व्यादिदेश सवाह्यानां भक्ष्यभोज्यमनुत्तमम्,नरश्रेष्ठ! राजा युधिष्ठिरने सेना और सवारियों-सहित उन सबके लिये उत्तमोत्तम भोजन प्रस्तुत करनेका आदेश दे दिया था
teṣāṃ yudhiṣṭhiro rājā sarveṣāṃ puruṣarṣabha | vyādideśa savāhyānāṃ bhakṣyabhojyam anuttamam ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: King Yudhiṣṭhira, foremost among men, ordered that excellent food and provisions be served for all of them, including their mounts and attendants.
वैशग्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights rājadharma: a king’s ethical responsibility to provide proper hospitality and sustenance for all dependents—people and even their mounts—showing that care, order, and generosity remain duties even when conflict looms.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that Yudhiṣṭhira issues instructions to arrange the best food and provisions for everyone present, explicitly including those with their riding animals/vehicles, indicating organized reception and logistical care.
