Transliteration

vaiśampāyana uvāca |

ālambhasamaye tasmin gṛhīteṣu paśuṣv atha |

maharṣayo mahārāja babhūvuḥ kṛpayānvitāḥ ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana said: At that time, when the moment for the animal-offering had arrived and the animals had been seized, the great seers—O great king—became filled with compassion.
