Vaiśampāyana said: With humble discipline, that king approached and stood in attendance upon Govinda, just as Pradyumna would—reverently presenting himself before Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the bearer of conch, discus, and mace. The scene underscores the ethical ideal that true royalty is shown not merely by power, but by courteous restraint and devoted service to the righteous Lord.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights vinaya (humble discipline) as a mark of dharmic character: even a king should approach the righteous Lord with reverence and service-mindedness, modeling ethical restraint rather than pride.

The narrator describes a king coming before Govinda (Śrī Kṛṣṇa) and standing in attendance with humility, compared to Pradyumna’s respectful manner toward Kṛṣṇa.
