Vaiśampāyana said: In due form, Babhruvāhana approached King Dhṛtarāṣṭra with reverence. Desiring Arjuna’s welfare, Queen Kuntī herself offered generous hospitality and honor to them both. Having received Kuntī’s respectful welcome, the radiant king Babhruvāhana stood in attendance upon Dhṛtarāṣṭra and, according to proper custom, touched his feet—an act that affirms dharma through humility, service to elders, and reconciliation after conflict.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed through proper conduct: honoring guests, serving elders, and showing humility (touching the feet) even amid post-war tensions—actions that help restore social harmony and ethical order.
Kuntī, wishing for Arjuna’s good, warmly honors Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Babhruvāhana. After receiving this hospitality, Babhruvāhana respectfully approaches Dhṛtarāṣṭra, attends upon him, and performs the customary act of touching his feet.
