tasmin sadasi nityāstu vyāsaśiṣyā dvijarṣabhāḥ | sarvaśāstrapraṇetāraḥ kuśalā yajñasaṃstare ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: In that sacrificial assembly, the foremost of the twice-born—disciples of Vyāsa—were always present. They were authoritative expounders of all the śāstras and were skilled in arranging and conducting the rites upon the sacrificial ground, ensuring that the yajña proceeded according to dharma and proper rule.

The verse underscores that major rites must be grounded in śāstra and guided by qualified teachers: learned Brāhmaṇas, trained in tradition, safeguard dharma by ensuring correct procedure and interpretation.
Vaiśaṃpāyana describes the sacrificial assembly connected with the Aśvamedha context, noting that Vyāsa’s eminent disciples are continually present, serving as expert authorities who manage and supervise the yajña’s arrangements and ritual conduct.
