abhimanyo kuśalino mātulās te mahārathāḥ | kuśalaṃ cābruvan sarve tvāṃ yuyutsum ihāgatam ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “Abhimanyu, your maternal uncles—those great chariot-warriors—are safe and well. All of them, having come here with the wish to fight, have asked after your welfare.”

Even amid martial intent, dharmic conduct preserves social order: warriors first exchange kuśala-praśna (inquiry after welfare), affirming kinship and responsibility before conflict.
Vaiśampāyana reports that Abhimanyu’s maternal uncles—renowned fighters—have arrived, eager for battle, and collectively ask Abhimanyu about his well-being while stating that they themselves are safe.
