Educational Q&A

A disciplined renunciant life: adopt simple ascetic clothing (hide or bark), maintain regular ritual purity through bathing at dawn and dusk, remain in the forest, and avoid returning to settled village life—signifying firm withdrawal from worldly attachments.

Vāyu-deva delivers a prescriptive rule-set for an ascetic/forest-dweller, outlining conduct and boundaries (purification practices, habitat, and avoidance of villages) as part of a dharmic instruction within the Ashvamedhika Parva context.
