मरुत्तोपाख्यान-प्रस्तावः — Genealogy to Marutta and the Logistics of Royal Sacrifice
तमपास्य च तद्राज्ये तस्य पुत्र सुवर्चसम् । अभ्यषिज्चन्त राजेन्द्र मुदिता हाभवंस्तदा
tam apāsya ca tad-rājye tasya putra suvarcasam | abhyaṣiñcanta rājendra muditā hābhavaṃs tadā ||
Having removed him from that kingship, the people installed his son Suvarcas as king by consecration. O best of kings, the subjects were greatly delighted at that time.
व्यास उवाच
Legitimate rule is tied to dharma and public welfare: when an unfit or displaced ruler is removed and a rightful successor is duly consecrated, social order is restored and the people rejoice—implying that kingship is a trust validated by proper succession and the consent/benefit of the subjects.
The previous holder of the kingship is removed, and his son Suvarcas is formally anointed as king. The populace responds with happiness, indicating approval and relief at the new arrangement.
