Educational Q&A

The verse highlights karmic and dharmic fruition: after completing their worldly roles, individuals—especially rulers—attain different divine realms according to their merits, conduct, and the cosmic order they upheld.

The narrator Vaiśampāyana describes the posthumous destinations of various persons (notably kings), stating that some go to Devaloka, some to Brahmā’s assembly, others to Varuṇa’s or Kubera’s realms, and many to the Sun’s world.
