Vaiśampāyana said: “Have you duly greeted and honored King Yudhiṣṭhira, the son of Dharma? And have you also consoled Bhīma, Arjuna, and the twin sons of Yama—Nakula and Sahadeva—so that their hearts are steadied?”

The verse highlights dharmic social conduct in times of sorrow: honoring rightful authority (Yudhiṣṭhira as king) and offering emotional reassurance to those burdened by grief. Ethical leadership and kinship duty include both formal respect and compassionate consolation.
Vaiśampāyana reports a concerned inquiry: someone is being asked whether they have properly greeted King Yudhiṣṭhira and whether they have also comforted the other Pāṇḍava brothers—Bhīma, Arjuna, and the twins Nakula and Sahadeva—indicating a context of distress where reassurance is needed.
