Vaiśampāyana said: Arjuna, radiant with great splendor, self-controlled, mounted a divine chariot blazing like the sun and yoked with white horses, and followed after the king. The scene underscores disciplined loyalty: even the mightiest warrior places his power under restraint and accompanies rightful authority in a time of transition.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Power is ethically grounded when governed by self-control (vaśī) and expressed as loyal service to rightful leadership; Arjuna’s splendor is paired with restraint and dutiful following.
Arjuna, shining with great brilliance, rides a divine, sun-like chariot yoked with white horses and proceeds behind the king (understood as Yudhiṣṭhira), accompanying him as events move toward the forest-dwelling phase.
