धृतराष्ट्र-सत्कारः तथा श्राद्ध-दाने नियमनम् | Honoring Dhṛtarāṣṭra and Regulating Śrāddha-Gifts

Vaiśampāyana said: Yudhiṣṭhira did not lodge in his heart the wrongdoing connected with that king; setting aside the injuries done by Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons, he continued to attend upon Dhṛtarāṣṭra in service. The passage highlights Yudhiṣṭhira’s ethical restraint—refusing to nurture resentment—and his commitment to dharma through respectful care of an elder even after grievous harm.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse teaches inner discipline: do not let past injuries become a permanent ‘sin’ in the heart as resentment. Yudhiṣṭhira embodies dharma by choosing respectful service and self-control over bitterness, even toward those connected with great harm.
After the war, Yudhiṣṭhira continues to serve the blind elder-king Dhṛtarāṣṭra. Although Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons committed many wrongs against him and his family, Yudhiṣṭhira does not keep that grievance in his heart and remains engaged in Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s care.
