Vidura’s Message to Dhṛtarāṣṭra: Authorization for Dāna and Public Welfare (विदुरवाक्यम्—दानानुज्ञा)
वयमेतत् प्रपश्यामो नृपते दिव्यचक्षुषा
Nārada uvāca: vayam etat prapaśyāmo nṛpate divya-cakṣuṣā.
Nārada said: “O king, with our divine sight we clearly perceive this. Vidura, the great-souled one, will enter into Yudhiṣṭhira’s body; and Sañjaya, because his mind is wholly fixed upon him, will depart from here straight to heaven.”
नारद उवाच
True spiritual attainment is shown through inner realization and single-pointed contemplation: divine seers perceive events beyond ordinary sight, Vidura’s merging signifies the return of a perfected being into a higher principle, and Sañjaya’s ascent indicates the liberating power of steadfast remembrance and devotion.
Nārada addresses the king and, using divine vision, foretells imminent events: Vidura will merge into Yudhiṣṭhira (enter his body), and Sañjaya—absorbed in contemplation—will leave directly for heaven.
