अर्जुन–युधिष्ठिर–विदुर संवादः
Arjuna and Yudhiṣṭhira instruct Vidura on honoring Dhṛtarāṣṭra
राज्ञस्तु याजकैस्तत्र कृतो वेदीपरिस्तर: । जुहाव तत्र वह्लिं स नृपति: सत्यसड्रर:
rājñas tu yājakais tatra kṛto vedī-paristaraḥ | juhāva tatra vahnīṃ sa nṛpatiḥ satya-saṅgaraḥ ||
Then the officiating priests prepared there a sacrificial altar and its proper arrangement for the king. Having established the sacred fire upon it, that truth-bound monarch duly performed the fire-offering (agnihotra).
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma expressed through disciplined ritual action: a ruler, steadfast in truth, upholds sacred duties by performing agnihotra properly, showing that ethical kingship includes fidelity to vows and prescribed responsibilities.
Priests prepare a sacrificial altar for the king; the fire is established, and the king performs the required oblations into the sacred fire according to proper ritual procedure.
