Vaiśampāyana said: The Pāṇḍavas duly presented Dhṛtarāṣṭra with highly valuable garments and with garlands of many kinds, offering them in a manner befitting propriety and respect. The act reflects their continued adherence to dharma—honouring an elder and former king despite the wounds of the past.

Even after conflict, dharma requires maintaining propriety: honouring elders and acting with restraint and respect. The Pāṇḍavas’ gifts symbolize ethical conduct and reconciliation rather than triumphalism.
In the opening of Āśramavāsika Parva, the Pāṇḍavas are shown attending to Dhṛtarāṣṭra and offering him costly clothes and various garlands in a fitting, customary manner.
