एवं रामाय कौरव्य वसिष्ठोडकथयत्‌ पुरा | तस्मात्‌ सुवर्णदानाय प्रयतस्व नराधिप

Transliteration

evaṁ rāmāya kauravya vasiṣṭho ’kathayat purā | tasmāt suvarṇa-dānāya prayatasva narādhipa kuru-nandana nareśvara ||

Translation

Bhishma said: “O Kauravya, in former times Vasiṣṭha related this entire account to Rāma (Paraśurāma)—the origin of gold and its greatness. Therefore, O king, O joy of the Kurus, strive earnestly to give gold in charity.”
