Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala (श्राद्धकल्पः पितृपूजा च तिथिफलम्)
तदिदं सम्यगारब्धं त्वयाद्य भरतर्षभ
tad idaṃ samyag ārabdhaṃ tvayādya bharatarṣabha
Bhīṣma said: “O bull among the Bharatas, what you have undertaken today has been begun in the right way—properly and in accordance with dharma.”
भीष्म उवाच
Bhīṣma affirms that the listener’s present course of action has been initiated correctly—implying that ethical undertakings should begin with proper intention, method, and alignment with dharma.
In the Anuśāsana Parva’s instruction sequence, Bhīṣma addresses Yudhiṣṭhira (honored as ‘bharatarṣabha’) and commends him for having properly begun the current inquiry/undertaking, setting a righteous tone for the ensuing counsel.
