Cyavana Explains His Tests; Kuśika Seeks Brāhmaṇya for His Line (च्यवन–कुशिक संवादः)
ततः शय्यागृहं प्राप्प भगवानृषिसत्तम: । संविवेश नरेशस्तु सपत्नीक: स्थितो5भवत्,इसके बाद मुनिश्रेष्ठ भगवान् च्यवन शयनागारमें जाकर सो गये और पत्नीसहित राजा कुशिक उनकी सेवामें खड़े रहे
tataḥ śayyāgṛhaṃ prāpya bhagavān ṛṣisattamaḥ | saṃviveśa nareśas tu sapatnīkaḥ sthito 'bhavat ||
Then the venerable sage—foremost among seers—went to the sleeping chamber and lay down to rest. The king, however, remained standing there with his queen, attending upon him in service.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse highlights the dharma of honoring and serving holy guests: even a king, with his queen, stands in attendance upon a sage, showing humility, hospitality, and reverence for spiritual merit.
After arriving at the bedchamber, the revered sage lies down to rest. The king does not retire; instead, he remains standing with his queen, ready to serve the sage.
