Devaśarmā–Vipula Dialogue on Ahorātra–Ṛtu as Moral Witnesses (अनुशासन पर्व, अध्याय ४३)
विपुलस्तु वच: श्रुत्वा गुरोश्विन्तामुपेयिवान्
vipulastu vacaḥ śrutvā guroś cintām upeyivān
Bhīṣma said: Hearing the extensive words of his teacher, Vipula became deeply concerned, reflecting on what ought to be done in accordance with duty.
भीष्म उवाच
A disciple should receive the guru’s instruction with seriousness and respond through careful ethical reflection (cintā), weighing duty and right conduct rather than acting impulsively.
Bhīṣma narrates that Vipula, after listening to his teacher’s detailed counsel, becomes concerned and contemplative—indicating an inner turn toward deciding the proper course aligned with dharma.
