Vipula’s Yogic Protection of the Guru’s Household (विपुलस्य योगरक्षा / Vipulasya Yogarakṣā)
लोकाननुचरनू् सर्वान् देवर्षिनरिद: पुरा । ददर्शाप्सरसं ब्राह्मीं पडचचूडामनिन्दिताम्
lokān anucaran sarvān devarṣi-nāradaḥ purā | dadarśāpsarasaṃ brāhmīṃ pañcacūḍām aninditām ||
Bhīṣma said: Long ago, while roaming through all the worlds, the divine seer Nārada beheld in Brahmā’s realm an irreproachable apsaras named Pañcacūḍā—an encounter that sets the stage for a moral reflection on conduct and the power of exemplary character.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse introduces a paradigmatic encounter used to ground ethical instruction: exemplary figures and their stories become vehicles for reflecting on dharma and blameless conduct.
Bhīṣma recounts that Nārada, traveling through the worlds, comes to Brahmā’s realm and sees the apsaras Pañcacūḍā, initiating the episode that follows.
