सौम्या गौ: सुरभियद्देवी विश्रवाश्व महानृषि: । संकल्प: सागरो गजड्जा स्रवन्त्यो5थ मरुद्गण:
bhīṣma uvāca |
saumyā gauḥ surabhir yad devī viśravāś ca mahān ṛṣiḥ |
saṅkalpaḥ sāgaraḥ gaṅgādyāḥ sravantyo 'tha marudgaṇaḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: “Also (in this sacred lineage of divine and seerly names) are mentioned: the gentle cow Surabhi, the goddess; the great sage Viśravā; Saṅkalpa, the power of resolve; the Ocean; the flowing rivers beginning with Gaṅgā; and the hosts of the Maruts.”
