ये तु धर्म महाराज सततं पर्युपासते । सत्यार्जवपरा: सन्तस्ते वै स्वर्गभुजो नरा:,महाराज! जो सत्य और सरलतामें तत्पर होकर सदा धर्मका पालन करते हैं, वे मनुष्य स्वर्गलोकका सुख भोगते हैं
ye tu dharma mahārāja satataṃ paryupāsate | satyārjavaparāḥ santaḥ te vai svargabhujo narāḥ ||
Bhīṣma said: O great king, those who constantly practice and uphold dharma—being virtuous people devoted to truthfulness and straightforwardness—indeed enjoy the delights of heaven.
भीष्म उवाच
Steady observance of dharma, grounded in truthfulness (satya) and straightforward sincerity (ārjava), leads to auspicious results—here expressed as the enjoyment of heaven.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction to the king (Yudhiṣṭhira) in the Anuśāsana Parva, he summarizes a moral principle: those who consistently live by dharma with truthful and simple conduct attain heavenly reward.
