याधातथ्येन सिद्धस्य इतिहासं पुरातनम्‌ | पराशरमतं दिव्यं शकाय कथितं पुरा

Transliteration

yādhātathyena siddhasya itihāsaṃ purātanam | parāśaramataṃ divyaṃ śakāya kathitaṃ purā ||

Translation

Bhishma said: “This is a truthful and ancient sacred account, taught by the accomplished sage Vedavyasa in accordance with reality. It sets forth the divine doctrine of Parashara, and in former times it was imparted to Indra.”
