Bhishma said: “Now I shall proclaim the names of the most eminent seers among men—Yavakrīta, Raibhya, Arvāvasu, Parāvasu; Kakṣīvān, the son of Uśij; Bala, the son of Śāḍrasa; and also Kaṇva, the son of Medhātithi, and Barhiṣad. All these sages are famed as filled with the splendor of Brahman and as sustainers of the world’s order.”
