इन्द्रेण च पुरा व्र॒ज॑ क्षिप्तं श्रीकाड्क्षिणा मम । दग्ध्वा कण्ठं तु तद् यातं तेन श्रीकण्ठता मम
Translation
“In ancient times, Indra struck me with the vajra, desiring to seize my splendor. That thunderbolt scorched my throat and then departed; hence I became renowned by the name Śrīkaṇṭha.”
