Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
धारानिनादैर्विहगप्रणादै: शुभैस्तथा बूंहितैः: कुज्जराणाम् | गीतैस्तथा किन्नराणामुदारै: शुभै: स्वनै: सामगानां च वीर
dhārāninādair vihagapraṇādaiḥ śubhais tathā bṛṃhitaiḥ kuñjarāṇām | gītaiś tathā kinnarāṇām udāraiḥ śubhaiḥ svanaiḥ sāmagānāṃ ca vīra vīra |
Vāsudeva said: “O hero, O hero! That forest-region was being made musical by auspicious sounds—by the murmuring rush of waterfalls cascading from mountain-peaks, by the sweet calls of birds, by the trumpeting of elephants, by the noble and enchanting songs of the Kinnaras, and by the benedictory tones of Sāma-chanters.”
