Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
सा च मामब्रवीद् गच्छ शिवाय विजयाय च | ब्रह्मा शिव: काश्यपश्च नद्यो देवा मनो5नुगा:
sā ca mām abravīd gaccha śivāya vijayāya ca | brahmā śivaḥ kāśyapaś ca nadyo devā mano'nugāḥ |
And she said to me, “Go—toward Śiva and toward victory.” (She indicated that) Brahmā, Śiva, and Kaśyapa, along with the rivers and the gods who follow the mind’s intent, are aligned in support—so one should proceed with confidence, seeking righteous success under divine auspices.
वासुदेव उवाच
Righteous action is strengthened when undertaken with auspicious intent and reverence for divine order; seeking Śiva (auspiciousness and higher good) is presented as a path that supports legitimate victory rather than mere conquest.
Vāsudeva reports a message spoken to him: he is urged to proceed toward Śiva and toward victory, with the assurance that great divine and cosmic powers—Brahmā, Śiva, Kaśyapa, the rivers, and the gods—stand in supportive alignment.
