Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
सर्वलोकान्तरात्मा च सर्वगः सर्ववाद्यपि । सर्वत्र भगवान् ज्ञेयो हृदिस्थ: सर्वदेहिनाम्
sarvalokāntarātmā ca sarvagaḥ sarvavādy api | sarvatra bhagavān jñeyo hṛdisthaḥ sarvadehinām ||
Vāsudeva said: “The Blessed Lord—who is the inner Self of all worlds, all-pervading, and present as the ground of every doctrine and utterance—should be known everywhere, abiding in the heart of every embodied being.”
वासुदेव उवाच
To recognize the Lord (here spoken of as Śiva) as the indwelling Self in all worlds and in the heart of every embodied being; this vision supports dharmic behavior—respect for all life, self-control, and impartiality.
Vāsudeva is instructing his listener(s) on the nature of the supreme divine presence, emphasizing omnipresence and inner immanence, and directing them to know the Lord everywhere and within all beings.
