उपवासे बलौ चापि ताम्रपात्रं विशिष्यते । बलिकभभिक्षा तथार्घ्य च पितृणां च तिलोदकम्
Baladeva uvāca: upavāse balau cāpi tāmrāpātraṁ viśiṣyate | balikabhikṣā tathārghyaṁ ca pitṝṇāṁ ca tilodakam |
Baladeva said: “In rites involving fasting and in offerings (bali), a copper vessel is considered especially excellent. Offerings for worship, alms, the arghya-oblation, and sesame-mixed water for the Pitṛs should be given through a copper vessel; otherwise their fruit becomes very slight. This is taught as a highly confidential point. When one acts accordingly, the deities are satisfied.”
