Chapter 128: Śiva–Umā Dialogue—Tilottamā, the Ritual Valence of the Śmaśāna, and the Fourfold Duty-Code
निश्चय ही तुम धनवानोंके बीच परम उत्तम और समयोचित बात कहते होगे, किंतु वह उन्हें पसंद न आती होगी। इसीलिये तुम सफेद और दुर्बल हो रहे हो ।।
dṛḍhapūrvaśrutaṃ mūrkhaṃ kupitaṃ hṛdayapriyam | anunetuṃ na śaknoṣi tenāsi hariṇaḥ kṛśaḥ ||
The brāhmaṇa said: “Some dear person of yours—once firm in resolve and long familiar to you—has, through folly, become angry with you. You are unable to pacify and win him back by gentle persuasion; therefore you have grown thin and pale like a deer.”
