नूनं मित्राणि ते रक्ष: साधूपचरितान्यपि । स्वदोषादपरज्यन्ते तेनासि हरिण: कृशः
Translation
The brāhmaṇa said: “Surely, O rākṣasa, your friends—though you have duly honored them—turn away from you because of faults in their own nature. Therefore, oppressed by worry, you have grown thin and pale like a deer.”
