Sāma (Sāntva) and Dāna: The Brāhmaṇa’s Conciliatory Release from a Rākṣasa

मैत्रेय उवाच निर्दोष निर्मल चैवं वचनं दानसंहितम्‌ । विद्यातपो भ्यां हि भवान्‌ भावितात्मा न संशय:

Maitreya said: “O sage, the words you have spoken concerning gifts are faultless and pure. There is no doubt that through learning and austerity you have refined your inner self to the highest purity.”
