Thus ends the one hundred and fifth chapter, entitled “Mutual Conduct Between the Elder and Younger Brother,” within the Dāna-dharma section of the Anuśāsana Parva of the sacred Mahābhārata. This closing formula marks the completion of a teaching on familial dharma—respect, duty, and reciprocal responsibility between siblings.
भीष्म उवाच
The chapter’s stated theme is reciprocal right conduct between an elder and a younger brother—an aspect of dharma emphasizing respect, protection, guidance, and mutual responsibility within the family.
This verse is a colophon-like closing line marking the completion of the 105th chapter within the Dāna-dharma portion of the Anuśāsana Parva, traditionally attributed to Bhīṣma’s instructional discourse.
