उपदेशदोषप्रसङ्गः (Upadeśa-doṣa-prasaṅgaḥ) — The Risk of Misapplied Counsel

पुरोहित उवाच एकं वै वरमिच्छामि यदि तुष्टो5सि पार्थिव । प्रतिजानीहि तावत्‌ त्वं सत्यं यद्‌ वद नानृतम्‌

Translation

The priest said: “O lord of the earth, if you are pleased, I desire but a single boon. First make this vow: ‘I shall speak the truth.’ Speak what is true; do not speak what is false.”
