Chapter 74: Non-anger, Forbearance, and the Ethics of Residence

अस्त्वयं सर्वदमन: सर्व हि दमयत्यसौ । स सर्वदमनो नाम कुमार: समपद्यत

astv ayaṁ sarvadamanaḥ sarvaṁ hi damayaty asau | sa sarvadamano nāma kumāraḥ samapadyata ||

Vaiśampāyana said: “Let this boy be called Sarvadamana, for he indeed subdues all.” Thus the child came to bear the name Sarvadamana—signaling a destined mastery not of mere force, but of disciplined restraint and rightful control.
