Chapter 74: Non-anger, Forbearance, and the Ethics of Residence

राजन सत्य परं ब्रह्म सत्यं च समय: पर: । मा त्याक्षी: समयं राजन्‌ सत्यं संगतमस्तु ते,राजन! सत्य परब्रह्म परमात्माका स्वरूप है। सत्य सबसे बड़ा नियम है। अतः महाराज! आप अपनी सत्य प्रतिज्ञाको न छोड़िये। सत्य आपका जीवनसंगी हो

Transliteration

rājan satyaṁ paraṁ brahma satyaṁ ca samayaḥ paraḥ | mā tyākṣīḥ samayaṁ rājan satyaṁ saṅgatam astu te ||

Translation

Duṣyanta said: “O King, Truth is the supreme Brahman; Truth is also the highest covenant. Do not abandon your pledged word, O King. Let Truth remain united with you as your constant companion.”
