भारुण्डसामगीताभिरथर्वशिरसोदगतै: । यतात्मभि: सुनियतै: शुशुभे स तदाश्रम:,यज्ञविद्या और उसके अंगोंकी जानकारी रखनेवाले यजुर्वेदी विद्वान् भी आश्रमकी शोभा बढ़ा रहे थे। नियमपूर्वक ब्रह्मचर्यव्रतका पालन करनेवाले सामवेदी महर्षियोंद्वारा वहाँ मधुरस्वरसे सामवेदका गान किया जा रहा था। मनको संयममें रखकर नियमपूर्वक उत्तम व्रतका पालन करनेवाले सामवेदी और अथर्ववेदी महर्षि भारुण्डसंज्ञक साममन्त्रोंके गीत गाते और अथर्ववेदके मन्त्रोंका उच्चारण करते थे; जिससे उस आश्रमकी बड़ी शोभा होती थी
bhāruṇḍasāmagītābhir atharvaśirasodgataiḥ | yatātmabhiḥ suniyataiḥ śuśubhe sa tadāśramaḥ ||
Then that hermitage shone with splendor: disciplined sages, self-controlled and strictly observant, filled it with the chanting of Bhāruṇḍa Sāman hymns and with Atharvan recitations (from the Atharvaśiras tradition). Their regulated vows and reverent Vedic song made the āśrama radiant.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
