Educational Q&A

Even the greatest mastery of arms is secondary to the moral pressures that drive conflict: vows, duty, and lineage-based obligations can compel confrontation, and the narrative invites reflection on how dharma is tested when righteous intentions collide.

Vaiśampāyana describes Bhīṣma, famed as the foremost knower of weapons, advancing to fight Paraśurāma (Rāma Jāmadagnya), the Bhārgava warrior-sage—introducing their celebrated martial encounter.
