चक्रतुर्नामधेयं च तस्य बालस्य तावुभौ । दम्पती वसुषेणेति दिक्षु सर्वासु विश्वुतम्,उन दोनों दम्पतिने उस बालकका नाम वसुषेण रखा। वह सम्पूर्ण दिशाओंमें भलीभाँति विख्यात था
cakratur nāmadheyaṃ ca tasya bālasya tāv ubhau | dampatī vasuṣeṇeti dikṣu sarvāsu viśrutam ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana said: The two of them, husband and wife, bestowed a name upon the child—Vasuṣeṇa. Thus he became well known in all directions.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A person’s place in society is often shaped by samskāras such as naming; public recognition can establish identity and reputation, even when deeper origins remain unknown.
The couple formally names the child Vasuṣeṇa, and the verse notes that he becomes widely renowned—foreshadowing his later prominence in the epic.
