Āstīka-stuti at Janamejaya’s Sacrifice (आस्तीकस्तुतिः / यज्ञप्रशंसा)
शशापाथ महातेजा: पितरं ते रुषान्वित: । ऋषे: पुत्रो महातेजा बालोडपि स्थविरण्युति:
śaśāpātha mahātejāḥ pitaraṃ te ruṣānvitāḥ | ṛṣeḥ putro mahātejā bālo 'pi sthavirāṇyutiḥ ||
Janamejaya said: Enraged, the radiant sage’s son—though still a boy, bearing the splendor of an elder—pronounced a curse upon your father.
जनमेजय उवाच
Spiritual power without self-control becomes dangerous: anger can corrupt judgment and turn sacred authority into harm, producing far-reaching consequences.
After learning what has occurred, a sage’s son—described as a boy with elder-like brilliance—becomes furious and curses the listener’s father, initiating a chain of repercussions.
