Ādi-parva Adhyāya 3 — Janamejaya’s Rite, Dhaumya’s Parīkṣā, and Uttanka’s Kuṇḍala Quest (सर्पसत्रप्रस्तावना–गुरुपरीक्षा–उत्तङ्कोपाख्यान)
आह चैन यथाश्विनावाहतुस्तथा त्वं श्रेयोडवाप्स्यसि,और उससे बोले--'जैसा अभश्विनीकुमारोंने कहा है, उसी प्रकार तुम कल्याणके भागी होओगे
āha cainaṃ yathāśvināv āhatus tathā tvaṃ śreyo ’vāpṣyasi
Rāma said to him: “Just as the Aśvinī twins have spoken, so too will you attain śreyas—true welfare and auspicious good.”
राम उवाच
That following the guidance of wise and beneficent authorities leads to śreyas—enduring welfare and moral good—rather than short-lived advantage.
Rāma addresses someone directly, endorsing the words of the Aśvin twins and assuring the listener that acting in accordance with their counsel will bring auspicious well-being.
