Rāma said: “You two are famed by the name Nāsatya. I offer worship to you, and to the lotus-garland you wear. Though immortal, you are those who nourish and expand ṛta—the eternal order of truth. Without your aid, even the gods are not able to attain that primeval Truth.”
राम उवाच
The verse teaches that ṛta—truth as cosmic and moral order—is sustained through divine support; even the gods require the Aśvins’ aid to reach or uphold that eternal Truth. Devotion here is linked to recognizing the sources that nourish truth and right order.
Rāma addresses the Aśvin twins (called Nāsatyas), offering reverence to them and to their lotus garland, and extols them as immortal upholders of ṛta, emphasizing their indispensable role even for the gods.
