Ādi-parva Adhyāya 3 — Janamejaya’s Rite, Dhaumya’s Parīkṣā, and Uttanka’s Kuṇḍala Quest (सर्पसत्रप्रस्तावना–गुरुपरीक्षा–उत्तङ्कोपाख्यान)
उत्तड़क एनमेवाश्वमधिरोह वत्वां क्षणेनैवोपाध्यायकुलं प्रापयिष्पतीति,“उत्तंक! इसी घोड़ेपर चढ़ जाओ। यह तुम्हें क्षणभरमें उपाध्यायके घर पहुँचा देगा”
Uttaṅka enam evāśvam adhiroha; sa tvāṁ kṣaṇenaivopādhyāyakulaṁ prāpayiṣyatīti.
That man said: “Uttanka, mount this very horse. It will carry you to your teacher’s household in a mere moment.”
राम उवाच
One should act swiftly and faithfully in matters of duty—especially obligations connected with the guru—using appropriate means without procrastination.
Rāma directs Uttaṅka to mount a particular horse, assuring him that it will quickly take him to his teacher’s home, enabling him to carry out his task without delay.
