Reaching the sacred ford called Alamba, Garuḍa approached the divine trees. Struck by the wind from his wings, those celestial trees trembled in fear, thinking, “He may break us.” The passage underscores how overwhelming power, even when not used with intent to harm, can unsettle the vulnerable—calling for restraint and awareness of one’s impact.

Educational Q&A

Great power can cause harm indirectly; therefore strength should be paired with mindfulness and restraint, especially around those who are vulnerable.

Garuḍa arrives at Alamba-tīrtha and nears the celestial trees; the gusts from his wings buffet them, and they tremble in fear that he might break them.
