त्वामष्टधा कल्पयित्वा यज्ञवाहमकल्पयन् । त्वया विश्वमिदं सृष्टं वदन्ति परमर्षय:
tvām aṣṭadhā kalpayitvā yajñavāham akalpayan | tvayā viśvam idaṁ sṛṣṭaṁ vadanti paramarṣayaḥ ||
Having conceived you in eight forms, the wise have established you as the bearer and vehicle of sacrifice. The highest seers declare that it is by you that this entire universe has been brought forth.
मन्दपाल उवाच
The verse presents a Vedic-theological vision: the divine is understood in an eightfold manifestation and is identified as the sustaining power of yajña (sacrificial order) and as the ultimate creator of the cosmos.
Mandapāla addresses a divine principle (implicitly Agni/the sacrificial fire as cosmic power), praising it as the yajña-bearer conceived in eight forms and affirming, on the authority of the highest seers, that the whole universe originates from it.
