Bhīṣma’s Counsel on Reconciliation and Partition (भीष्मोपदेशः—संधि-राज्यविभागविचारः)

व्यास उवाच अस्मिन् धर्मे विप्रलब्धे लोकवेदविरोधके । यस्य यस्य मतं यद् यच्छोतुमिच्छामि तस्य तत्
Translation
Vyāsa said: “This matter of dharma is exceedingly subtle, as though veiled by the covering of the śāstras, and it appears to stand against both worldly custom and the Veda. Therefore, whatever view each of you holds, I wish to hear it.”
